Myth Or Fact On Immunity

Immune system is a complex of biomolecules and processes of the body that usually work in harmony to provide resistance to infection .Our immune system that plays a vital role in protecting us from disease causing micro-organism is governed by healthy lifestyle. Whenever there is any disturbance in the equilibrium, it tends to fail in its action. 

Here’s  some  Myths and Facts about Immunity and Immune System

1.Myth or Fact:  What we eat has an effect on our immune system. 

Fact: Taking poor nutrition affects the immunity. A balanced diet will be always helpful in   boosting the immunity. 

2.Myth or Fact:  Vaccines are of no use. It is better to get immunized suffering through diseases.

Myth: Vaccines are safe and effective .They do not risk the person with the complication of the diseases yet produce the response similar to that of the natural infection.

3.Myth or Fact:  Good sleep and exercise have no effect on immune system.

Myth: Though there has been no direct link between proper sleep and exercise on immunity but it has been studied that a good restorative sleep for 7 hrs. and moderate exercise help in keeping all the vital parameters of the body under check.

4.Myth or Fact:  Taking mega doses of health supplement will boost immunity.

Myth: Health supplement does have a positive effect in boosting the immunity of the body but  taking mega doses of a supplement has not been proven to be of any help.

5.What immunization one needs depends on various factors.

Fact: The type of immunization one needs is governed by factors known as Immunization HALO. (Health, Age, Lifestyle, Occupation).
